“The world has just begun to see one of the great one's emerge...”
J. M. de la Torres Villareal

How did you get started?

As a child, I was bored with my surroundings. I let the imagination roam free.

Who or what are your influences?

Love and love of beauty are my biggest influences.

What inspires your work?

An innate desire to create.

How does Miami/South Florida influence your work?

I was raised here. It has inevitably helped shape my perspective on culture and natural surroundings. We are a city full of colors and textures. Our people bring their art from all over the world, so living here is like being bombarded with multidimensional levels of art.

How would you describe your work?

Indescribable. Every onlooker is correct in their description, each unique. If I were to describe my work, it would only be a small opinion and not the work itself.

What has been the most unusual reaction to your work from the public?

I am surprised, and it is unusual for me to receive extremely positive feedback. That's unusual. I have always painted for myself, and I never expected to have others like them and receive the encouragement that I have.

What would you like to achieve as an artist?

Create beauty that helps us feel good with the aesthetic, perhaps even touch the spirit of the observer in some small way.
